A contract position to perform all aspects of events including inventory management, product design and set-up / tare down for private events and festivals throughout Southern Ontario.
The Empire City Trading Co is a handcrafted event design firm specifically targeted at creative teams and event professionals. Known for it one-of-a kind inventory, Empire City has carved out a niche for it’s lighting, interaction and creative blend of style and tech offering both custom builds and unique rental stock. Our goal is to create unique, one of a kind sets and style pieces that augment the design of an event space.
1. Inventory Management
Keep track of all inventory stock throughout a job lifecycle including booking, staging, set-up, return and maintenance. Will be in charge of implementing and maintaining an online inventory booking system as well as invoicing and processing payment of clients.
2. Design and Build
Will work with clients on designing and building sets and style pieces from conceptualizing through to production and implementation.
3. Logistics & Team Management
In charge of building and and managing a team of set-up / take-down crew including fleet management (car / delivery), training & legal requirements (Working at heights, smart serve etc), and scheduling. Will deliver, set-up and tare down event constructs and act as site manager for teams of road crew of up to 10.
4. Client Management
Respond to correspondence from both clients and leads via e-mail and phone in order to confirm new clients, upsell products from other UrbanRoom Companies and offer support to existing clients.
No less than 6 months in a management position.
Carpentry or Eletrical trade a plus (Hobbiest welcome).
Previous experience in small shop or start-ups a plus.

Intermediate computer skills (Both mac and Windows).
Intermediate to advanced contractor skills (Carpentry, Electrical, Basic Plumbing).
Intermediate A/V knowledge a plus.
Must Enjoy working as a team and have the ability to share both successes and failing as a team.
Must be autonomous, self motivated, a self-learner and be able to meet deadlines without constant oversight
High customer relations ability

Working at Heights Certificate, Smart Serve (Can be arranged after hire)
Full weekend availablity
3 Days a week (24hrs) Thursday, Friday, Saturday. Some Sundays required.
$17.50/hr+ (Depending on Experience)
